A sphere has 360 degree's around it's circumference, it also has 360 degree's on each degree of rotation, each of those degrees can be sub-divided in to 60 minutes.  That gives (if my math's are correct) a figure in the region of 466.56m positions, therefore it has in the region of 233.28m axis's.

If one views a problem/situation as sphere, with the problem/situation as the North Pole, the opposite view being the South Pole, associated factors arranged around the issue also with opposite views diametrically arranged around the South pole. Each of the associated factors is a problem/situation in itself, also with associated factors with their own axis's.

That single sphere, generated from one problem/situation, holds every problem that man has. By rotating the sphere to the appropriate degree, all the associated factors can the be seen, and addressed.

The nucleus of that sphere is ........... MAN. Humans have created the problems, the 'solutions' have magnified them rather than cure them.

Why? Quite simply because man's inherent failure to -
1. address the associated factors of any problem/situation or the solution,
2. take account of the opposing views,
3. build in a revision time to address the growing negative effects of any action. hence, we have created the consequences that now need to be addressed, each one creating more problems/situations.

Technology will not solve it, neither will democracy, we need to address the basic problem of human nature first. That thought prompted me to do a comparison between the different Yahoo-groups that I am on i.e. what are the people interested in.

15 thousand does not add up to a good size town, if one takes out the duplications I doubt if it would be 5,000, which then makes even a big political group a mighty small can of beans.

It is often said that government is management of the resources, and politics is who gets the biggest share of those resources.
It is therefore interesting that the 'politically-aware' people on political groups do not have any apparent appreciation, or understanding, of either resources or consequences. That is also true of the 'solutions' groups, both seem to believe in perpetual-motion i.e. it can carry on ad infinitum.

It is common to find 'political' members on more than one group, ditto in 'resources/consequences', it is rare to find 'political' in any of the other groups.
The resources and consequences groups are looking for ways to avoid the proverbial when it comes out of the 'fan', the political/solutions groups are not even aware of what will hit the fan.

It does make one wonder why politically-aware people are not interested in the prime reason for government ........... unless they, like a rabbit caught in the headlights, do not realise the 'car' (resources) behind the 'headlights' (politics) is about to run over them.

Human Nature and Headlights.
It could be coincidence that the above groups are not dissimilar to society, the hard-core political vote, the remainder may, or may not, vote. The belief in leaders, rather than solutions, leads to the inevitable metamorphosing of groups when the 'ideal' they were looking up to fails to materialise, usually because the 'leaders' used the number of members as a legitimisation of their own point of view, when that happens the group becomes smaller and the 'leaders' reappear under a different banner.

Ad infinitum.
