Is anyone really surprised that a book has been written uncovering modern society? I could (if I was capable) write one myself. Some of items would be:- 1:- Politics. How can anyone persist in the belief that we live in a democracy when MP's are elected because of the party they follow instead of their ability. If you elect 600 sheep that say Baa, who is to blame when you're in the S*!t? The current government is in power because of the number of people who voted for Tony Blair, regardless of the ability of the candidate who was to represent them. It follows the trend of Maggie Thatcher's second term, and look where she and the Tories are now. I respect both for their abilities, but what a way to run a country! 2:- EU. A system based on Communism. Un-elected commissioners selected from failed politicians with more power than Prime Ministers (and more pay) with a government that has three sets of offices with three Houses of Parliament (each in a different country) to give a front to Democracy. Judging from the EU's own audit commission reports, the old adage "Politician's are like Bananas, they start off green, turn yellow, and are permanently bent" is still true today. 3:- Education. All the reforms mean confusion. How can teachers teach the kids about life if the teachers have never left school?, from school they go to college, to teacher training, to school. No one should be a teacher until they had 10 years "outside". The modern idiom of :- "There are no problems, only challenges", is a load of bull, you can walk away from a challenge, problems follow you no matter how fast you run. 4:- Religion. If the "GOD" of religion made the world, why did be make two sets of rules. A:- The indisputable laws of nature, which have remained unchanged over millions of years. B:- The religious laws, written, interpreted, translated, modernised and generally mucked about, by MAN (not women). All, in attempts to obtain or regain power over the masses. The education of the masses has seen the decline of the credibility of religion, unfortunately it has destroyed the credibility of GOD, if people spent more time observing NATURE they may get to understand why our predecessors believed in a GOD, it is so complex that scientists still do not understand it. 5:- Science. Just how do the public perceive that science is going to improve the future, when their improvements to date have created more problems (and profit for them) than they have cured. The two biggest threats to mankind are A:- over-population. B:- destruction of the environment. Who in their right mind wants to live for 400years? in a ever more polluted world? with a decimated wildlife?, I can only assume the scientists, who in their insulated, isolated world will never notice the difference, but it's not easy to see where you are going with your head in the trough.. 6:- Money. Now if ever there is a fake world it is this one. Monetary Union (a political/monetary system for "what ever happens now it's not our fault"). Electronic transfer (which is a system that moves "money" so fast that it takes 4 days to reach your account and 2 nanosecs to come out). Stocks & Shares (a system that allows chairmen/CEO/directors to get exorbitant fees/bonus's/golden handshakes when they "screw it up", especially if they can do it at the expense of shareholders/staff, double if they screw the customer). 7:- One of the things that annoys me about today's society is that the people that make up a "think-tank" are the academic's who represent the type of people who created the society they are complaining about. If not, who did educate the educators who educate the masses in to the puerile way of thinking that requires people to fill forms to prove they have done something that leaves no time for doing what they should have been doing in the first place. 8:- I quit or I'll be writing that bloody book.
