TAX

Have you every considered how illogical it is for governments to subsidise (tax allowance) machinery purchases which put people out of work, yet pay out millions on re-training, social and welfare benefit's.

Would it not be more beneficial to tax companies at a standard rate, and give a rebate according to the tax paid by the employee's. I have yet to see, or hear, of a piece of machinery that makes any contribution to the national purse.

A piece of machinery that displaces 5 people and costs 50,000 with an allowance of 15% (7,500), the cost to the company is 42,500, the cost to the state is 7,500+ retraining 3 (assuming 2 find other employment immediately) + welfare for 3months.  That has to add up to 30,000+ by the time you have added the cost of the bureaucrats in.

With the population growing at a phenomenal rate (1 billion in 11 years), something will have to be done, because the welfare bill will be going through the roof.

And I am sitting here wondering why my tax bill is so high.
