Utopia

Can anybody describe this Utopia that society is rushing towards?.

If I have got it right:-

  • 1:- There will be no wars.
  • 2:- No one will be allowed to die, before/during or after birth.
  • 3:- We will live longer.
  • 4:- We will be environmentally friendly.

The education that I received, which is most likely wrong by today's standards, was that 2+2=4, in other words, it does not add up.

1:- The worlds population has increased 4 times this century (and we need a fertility pill?).

2:- It will double again by 2025. i.e. about 25years.

3:- At that rate it double again in 12.5 years etc

Who is gaining from this insane rush to achieve perfection, or is it Armageddon?.

1:- It is certainly not the old. You are too old at 45, or is it 35 now. The O.A.P's, nobody wants to know about them. The young? a lot are on the streets or drugs or both. It is not families because there are not many left. It is not gender specific, because although women appear to gaining at the expense of men it is only because the balance was wrong before.

2:- Is it government?. With the problems they've got I cannot see how they can gain, I can see how they are to blame. Until we have a system that elects an MP for his/her own ability not for the party or leader, we will be governed by party political bickering, not consensus. "Reap as you shall sow" or, you got want you wanted.

3:- If it's not the individual or government, is it business?. Well it is not small business, most of them are running a race with three-legs, each with a ball and chain.

4:- Is it big business's?. I can understand:-

Why pharmaceutical's can't find a cure for the common-cold, yet they try and convince us they can find a cure for cancer and aids.

Why insurance will sell you a policy against your personal fear, and say it was an "act of God" when it becomes reality.

Why car manufactures make family saloons that can top the "ton" when we have a speed limit of 70mph, and 850 mini could do 80 in 1960.

Why supermarkets keep 20% of the retail price of their products.

Why power companies do not believe in global warming.

Why the architect of an "earthquake proof" sky-scraper lives miles away in a bungalow.

Why we need genetic engineering.

Why we need chemicals.

Why religion believes in "go forth and multiply".

Why the computer industry has only just realised that the year 2000 is coming.

Why we need a hole in the head.

Why Bill Gates is the richest man in the world. Anyone who can sell duff products like MS Dos and Windows 95 should be put against a wall and shot. The crime:- a threat to civilisation, or, perhaps it's the daft pillocks who sing his praises who should be shot.

Why quadrupling the speed of a computer only doubles the speed that it works (IF you are lucky).

Why 50% of advertising is a waste of time, it's because 75% of the products are crap, not needed, over-priced, over-packaged and over-here.

If you have your head in a trough, you can't see the horizon. Everyone wants a bigger share of the business. If you can get away with selling defects, the customer will keep coming back for replacements. It will be interesting to see which disappears up it is own orifice first, science, religion or civilisation.

WHEN YOU ARE IN HOLE. STOP DIGGING.

Or should it be:-

STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF.
